Stored Procedures - Are these useful if you are using a stand alone Access file & not MS SQL server?

I am working on developing my Access skillset via online tutorials and forums. I see a lot of talk about the benefits of stored procedures but it seems like they always are in the context of MS SQL Server. If you are making an Access file that is not utilizing MS SQL Server do stored procedures have any value?

In Access the equivalent is supposed to be Data Macros. I have never used them.
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

Not really, data macros in Access are more like triggers in SQL Server, not stored procedures. SQL Server stored procedures are sort of a blend between queries and VBA. They are pretty powerful. There isn't really a direct equivalent in Access.

Stored procedures are equivalent to procedures coded in in Access VBA modules (and you can write UDF's in SQL too, like functions you write in Access VBA modules).

Feature which takes SQL Server to another level are jobs, where you can start any stored procedures. For every job, you define a running shedule - start (and end) date(s) and time(s), when the job is running (on certain day of month, on certain day(s) of week) and running scope an frequency in running day (every ? minutes from ? to ?)
