how do i strip my db of 2003 user level permissions?

My back-end is a 2003 database with user level permissions. In the last few years, I have updated my front-end to and accdb file. The shortcut that opens the accdb front end has a switch that points to the workgroup file that was used when the database was first developed with access 2003. So when the front end accdb files opens, it asked for username and password. Once open, buttons are visible or not visible based off of username.

I feel like I need to start working on my database to get rid of the user level permissions before a new version of access does not allow them to work at all.

I want to make a copy of my back end and front end and start working on them to remove the user level permissions.
How can I strip the user level permissions from both so that my database opens with out pointing to a workgroup file and it doesnt ask for username and password?
