Gauge - Speedo

Hi all, I'm wanting to use a graphic like the one displayed here and have a line or graphic to represent the needle to move based on a result from a range. Is there anything in laymans terms that i could tinker with to help me product the result. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Only thing I can think of would be manipulating the width and slant properties of a line control. I expect the code would be daunting to say the least.
