    Unable to Remove Subdatasheet

    Hello Everyone,

I've had limited experience with subdatasheets. all I know is that I don't like them. I have a bunch of tables that a co-worker created, and most contain a subdatasheet. Unfortunately, when I try to remove them, the button (Home->Records->More->Subdatasheet->Remove) is grayed out. Is there some relationship or option that prevents me from performing this action?

Sorry, don't use them. I found this from MS:
"The table is the "one" side of a one-to-many relationship, where the table's SubdatasheetName property is set to Auto."
    Change the name to "[None]".

Open table/query to Design view, change the SubdatasheetName property. In a table the option is [None], in a query it would be blank so just delete whatever is there.

Although it would seem if this is possible then should be able to do from the ribbon.

Maybe you have Name Autocorrect turned on? IIRC, this can prevent removal of subdatasheets. If it is, turn it off, compact/repair and try again. Many of us here would not use Name Autocorrect.

You can only remove the subdatasheet directly from the table, not from the frontend of a split database. If the tables listed in the navigation pane show a blue arrow before the icon and table name, then you are using a frontend of a split database which only points to the tables located in the backend. If you do not have direct access to the backend tables then an administrator would have to remove the subdatasheet.
