    Report Creation Prompting for Reply

I have a table that has a field that places the entries into 1 of various categories. The user will select a category from a combo box that they want on their report. I am printing the category in the page heading. The report is coming out properly. However, when the report starts I receive a prompt box asking me type in the category. It doesn't matter what I type in reply to the prompt (I can even enter nothing), the report will print with the category selected from the combo box. How do I eliminate the prompt box?

This is caused by an unknown field name. What is the name of the field it is asking for? That will tell you that Access can't find it anywhere and is assuming you want to enter it.

Other possibilities: if you are getting the correct category in the report header, then the report query may have a parameter in the category criteria field, OR that query references a form control to get the value, and the form is no longer open. As mentioned, the name of the field it can't find would help narrow down the cause.
