An Access Macro and an Excel Macro

I am trying to get some VBA or macro automation going when I import an MS Excel spreadsheet into an MS Access table.

I am confused about one thing. In Excel a macro or what they refer to as a macro can actually have VBA code or so it seems.

In MS Access that I am familiar with macros and VBA code are two different things. A macro has steps, but it is clearly not VBA code.

So what gives here. Are the two terms equivalent?

Ant help appreciate. Thanks in advance.

    Respectfully,

They are not equivalent. Excel macros are written in VBA (as are ones in Outlook/Word etc). Access macros are a different animal - providing a higher, but more limited functionality much like the query design window v the SQL window for queries. Note also that Excel vba has its differences from Access vba, for example the nz function is not available in Excel and there are excel functions not available in Access.
