    Suming a calculated unbounded control

    Good Day All.

My records has 2 fields namely: Quantity and UnitCost.

the total cost for each record is held in an unbounded control "Total" with the formula : [Quantity]*[UnitCost].
I now want to sum the "Total" control to find the net cost, and here is my formula: Sum([Total])

But sure it is not working. Would you believe that if I use that same formula for the "Quantity" or "unitcost" fields it works perfectly well.

Can anyone explain this situation and offer a solution?

You can't sum a control. You can sum the calculation, or move the calculation to the report's source query.
