    Chart Question

    Hi everyone,

I am kinda new to creating charts in access. I would like to know if it is possible to create a bar chart without adding the vertical column. What I have are 12 cars with different mileage. They all need to get to a certain mileage at the end of the year and a chart will help to create a sense on how much is left for all of them. But when I create the chart, it automatically adds the mileage instead of showing just the value. I will also like for access to label every bar with the license no of the car since now it only shows 6 of them. I just would like to know if it is possible or if there is a better way to do this.

    Thank you

I'm pretty sure what you want is possible.

Update: I think I was able to figure out the way to solve my problem but now I have another question. Is it possible to set a min and max on the chart?

    Thank you

I'm by no means an expert on charts. As for your question, Min and Max *what*?

Min and Max values on the y-axis, sorry for not being specific.

IIRC Charts do not do calculations. Plotting maybe but not calculations. They depend on the input table for what to display. If you can get that info into the input table then the chart can probably display it.

What I ask is not really a calculation. I just want to set the min and max of the y-axis to a different value, like for example 0-100 instead of 0-150. I don't think it involves calculations I was thinking more of a code but I'm not a pro in coding so I'm not sure on how to tackle this.

Oh, the range of the chart then, right? You should be able to modify that.

Yes, the range, that's right. Would you be kind to explain me how? I don't have any idea where to look.

I don't know how to open it. Where do you see those properties? I need to add that what I have is a Column Chart. I don't know if that makes a difference or not.

Okay, column chart does have Min and Max Y axis scale range

    1. form or report in design view

    2. double click the chart or right click > Edit or Open to open chart editor

    3. click on the desired axis or hover over axis and right click > Format Axis

    4. click Scale tab and edit settings

    5. click anywhere on form on report outside the chart to close the editor
