How do you format option buttons in option groups?

    Hello All,

I am new to the group, but need some help.

I have created a form in access 2013. I added an unbound option group with two options (yes and no).

Size:	4.2 KB

(notice the blue dot is selected when unbound)

I need this to be a bound option group, so I made the control source a yes/no field from one of my table. When I did that and went to form view. The option buttons changed to:

Name:	bound option group.jpg
Views:	11
Size:	5.1 KB

(notice the blue dot is missing and replaced with the dotted lines around "no")

This also happens with the checkbox option in the option group.

Is there a way I can keep the blue dot option with a bound option group?

I have never used option buttons in a bound option group control so never noticed this. Apparently this is how bound option group behaves. Check boxes do the same.

Alternative is unbound option group and code saves data to the field.

Instead of Yes or No, set the option value to -1 (Yes) and the other button 0 (No).

Thanks for the insight, davegri. I had left the defaults of 1 and 2. Had a fleeting thought "doesn't look right" but did not pursue. Now so obvious.
