Question Control on main form is hidden after changing subform recordsource & record navigation in main form

    Hello,

I have a subform which is bound to a query. I use an option group to change the recordsource of this query.
The user can navigate through all the records in the main form. However if you first change the recordsource by selecting "Live" or "Archived" and then navigate through the recordset of the main form using the navigation buttons then the form moves up and the "Description" control is hidden. I have tried placing an invisible dummy text box at the top of the form and setting the focus to it to stop this happening which works but the cursor then flashes at this position which looks ugly.

The 2 attached images should clarify the problem.

I would appreciate if someone could help explain why this is happening and suggest a solution.
    Many thanks.

    Paul

Have you tried closing up the form height a bit so everything fits on the screen? What sort of control are you using to display the records in the lower part of the form? ListBox, SubForm???

Thanks for your reply. Everything fits on the screen to start with.
The bottom half of the screen is a list box inside a subform linked to the main form on Workspace ID.

Set the Tab Stop property to No for your subform.

it really looks like your form is scrolling. In the top image, the Live and Note controls are significantly lower than the bottom image.

Another possibility is that your description control is called description. Description is a reserved word and using it as a field/control name can have unpredictable effects.

Another one is perhaps you have put the description in a page header section rather than the form header

As you can see, the second image shows a list box with more rows then the first. It even has the vertical scroll bar showing. The listbox is pushing everything up. Try reducing the size of the listbox, or move the listbox up a bit, closer to the buttons, or both.
You can also increase the vertical size of the main form.

If there is a form footer, remove it.

Thanks for all your replies. It's definitely to do with the form scrolling although the problem doesn't occur on my home PC which is a much bigger monitor.

There is still a lot of geography on the form that could be closed up. The size of the SubForm changes depending on what you have selected.

So the monitors are set for different screen resolution? That can impact display behavior.
