    Access a subform

When I Access a form with a subform in MS Access 2010 and select the subform it give a record source as a Source Object. What is this?

If I go to the subform itself and check out its properties, the subform there has a record source of a query or as I call it Query2. What is going on here these are in conflict.

The form's subform has a Source Object and the actual subform as a Record Source.

    This makes no sense.

Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Respectfully,

    Lou Reed

the subform can be a query, or a form, or a table.
if you pick form, the form has a data source, query or table.

it has to know what data you want to see.

Okay, but when accessing the subform and clicking selecting form it says the record source is a query that I created. I believe that to be correct.

If I go to the main form in design view and select subform it has something called a source object not a record source.

    What is the difference?

Also, the main form has a blank record source. Why?

Any help appreciated. Thinks in advance.

    Respectfully,

Bulzie gave you the links to figure it out. For clarity, the "Source Object" property on the Subform Control is the physical name of the form that is loaded as a subform.
