Dear,
Is there any way to create external XLS or XLSX file which would count data from Access, create a modern look chart by using this sums, and then linked it in Access again, to show that modern chart in a report?

Not sure what you are asking? You can export data from Access to Excel, you can do graphs in reports in Access.
To explain a question a little better.... As I see, charts in Access have a very old design....
So, I would like to link extrenal XLSX file to my Access database which would collect counted data like: all tasks, all finished tasks, all ovedue tasks, all rejected tasks and all postponed tasks and from that data create a modern look chart in Excel, which will be updated on any change in Access database (like a extrernal small database for this purpose). And again, insert that chart again in one of my reports.
The result which I want is to have a modern look chart in my Access report, which will be automatically updated on every change of task status in database.
Create the chart in Excel based on values in a second worksheet
Export a query to this second worksheet
Open the xlsx and print the chart to a pdf file
Your report will contain this pdf
Dear aytee111,
Can you give me a detailed intructions how to do that, because I'm a beginner in Access?
Especially this part with a query...
I suggest that you get a basic understanding of Access before attempting something as complicated as this. Then come back to us with specific questions.
