    shortdate incorporated in a text

    Good day,

I created a report where the following are printable.

    Date: 07/05/2017 dd/mm/yyyy
    Brand: ADIDAS
    Serial No. 01

Based on the above available data, i combine the same into 1 reference number as shown below:

    BRAND/DATE/SERIAL NO.

This is the problem, the date that should appear on the reference number should be yymmdd, thus the reference number should appear as:

    ADIDAS/170507/01

I made a text1 box that mirrors the DATE, and in the PROPERTIES, i changed the FORMAT TO yymmdd;@ to get the desired date of YYMMDD. but when the TEXT1 is included in the reference number, this is how it appears:

    ADIDAS/07/05/2017/01

but what i need is ADIDAS/170507/01

Can you please help me on this.

    Thank you.

    Trident

Just curious, but why do you need this format?
    Try:

    ReferenceNumber = Brand &"/" & format(Date,"YYMMDD") &"/" & [Serial No.]

Thank you for the lesson. It works.

As for your question, it is also used as a filename.
