Import a Module that is password protected

    Hi All,

Greatly appreciate any help you can give.

I found today that 4 Access 2016 databases that have been working well suddenly would not open. No errors, just won't open. Was able to create new databases and import all the object from 3 of them and they are now working. One big problem: One of the databases has a password on the code. Can't import the code or any forms with code without first opening the database and removing the password. I know the password but cannot open the database as mentioned above to enter it.

Anyone know a work around for this? Is there a way to pass the password while importing the modules?

    Thanks, B

not so far as I am aware, you need to remove the password.

If this is a vba password issue (not a mde/accde), there are ways to remove the password using a hex editor. I've never tried it but here are some links which relate to Excel - look hard enough and you should find one for Access.

You aught to try and understand why your db's stopped working, there has to be a reason, particularly if 4 all failed at the same time - implies an update of some sort. And going forward, ensure you have master copies of the front end somewhere safe.

    Import Module

    Thanks Ajax,

Got notice of another one this morning, makes the total 7. It affects every copy of each affected db but not all db's. Definitely something going on but I haven't gotten to the bottom of it yet.

    Thanks,

    B
