Order of fields in a query.

    Hello everyone,

I have a question about Northwind Database. In the query section there is a query called "Customers Extended" which when viewed in Design View shows the [File As] the first field and [Contact Name] the second field. However when viewed in datasheet view, the first field is [Contact Name] and second field is [File As]. How does this come about? Could anyone please explain?

    Regards,

    Bharat

in datasheet view, you can order the fields anyway you want, then click the save button and they will stay in that order.
change them if you like: (grab the field header w mouse, then drag to the position needed)

or in the query, do the same.

    Thanks for your quick response.

I meant to ask that even though the query "SELECT [criteria] as FileAs" is given first yet it appears as a second field instead of first. Why?

    Thanks again.
