    I think you've zero'd in on it.
It is definitely occuring only the moment I click to the second tab, all other factors independent.

I was thinking it is something about the tab control action that broke it.
Is there anything unique about a tab control? The NZ function may not apply correctly??
And yes, googled and true. It's from Greens site.
Unfortunately I cannot zip a copy, it's a government big data project with tens of thousands of peoples wages, addresses, names etc. Nothing evil, this is where the ALIS wage & salary site gets its data.
But yeah.. weird form and old code.

Hopefully your working on a small test database to make and test and verify any code revision.
I'm not interested in the data --Porky Pig or General Purpose is fine.
I'm more interested in how you are calling the AuditChanges, and how you are using the subform.

I have been helping someone who is having issues with Martin's detailed audit where it is deleting the correct record, but it is writing an audit record for the Next record. I have reviewed his code and sample in the download from his site, and the error is in his own data.
If you look at his employees table, you will see there is no record 722. But if you look at his audit trail, you 'll see a DEL for record 723.
Similarly for EmployeeID 316 (no record--has been deleted) but the audit trail shows a DEL for record 317.
Bottom line is his code does not handle DELETES correctly.

The person I was assisting does not deal with subforms at this point.

I would like to help but need some sort of sample of your forms and code -- not necessarily data - any dummy records would be sufficient.
The data base structure with a couple of forms and their related tables (which could have mock data/dummy data) is all that is needed.

    Good luck.

I worked in corporate database with fed govt for many years.
