How do I remove sorting in 1 field so I can sort by another field

I had a field consisting of numbers that I sorted by ascending. Now I want to sort another field in the same way and am wondering if that will "override" the sorting in the first field. Thanks.

Sorts are applied in order, so the second sort will apply within the first.

When you open the 'group, sort and total' window (Design tab > Grouping and Sorting on ribbon) while in report view, you should be able to see that you can add sorts in a hierarchical fashion. You have to remove the first sort if you no longer want it - x button on far right of the sort details row. Or simply use the drop down to change the field to sort on.

Where are you doing this sorting?

If you sort in a query, you can specify the hierarchy of the sort. I don't even bother trying to sort in tables.

I almost asked that question too, since I always get to the posts via the New Posts link which doesn't make it obvious when they're all presented in one list. I had a brief and not too frequent moment of clarity and went by the thread category: Reports.

    Dang! Should've thought of that...
