Form Value shown in Requested by

In the file that I attached to this post. I have a the form frmHelpDeskTickets that shows up when clicked.
The name Frank Graham shows up in the Requested By textbox. But who is Frank Graham in the context of
    this db?

He is not user because his name does not appear in the tblUsers, and it does not appear in the tableHelpDeskEmployees, it appears only in the
table tblHelpDeskTickets. So he cannot be the user and he cannot be a help desk employee? Just who is he? He requested the help desk ticket, but he is neither user, no help desk employee.

He may be the middle man who gets a help request and passes it on to an engineer who actually works on the ticket; but where does that leave Sally Jenkins who actually got the help desk request?

Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Respectfully,

    Lou Reed

from what you have supplied the name is manually entered, as is Jake Simmons, the other name in the table under strRequestedBy. Probably entered in the form you have supplied or perhaps it is test data or perhaps they used to be an employee or user and their record has been deleted.

Okay, but doesn't that mean there is no referential integrity. We have a requested by Frank Graham, but no record of him in employee table : he is not there.

    Is this okay?

I've no idea - it's your system. According to your relationships, there is no referential integrity for that field

Well, it is not my system. Someone gave it to me. I understand you point, however.

    Thanks.

I am not sure why you say there is no referential integrity for that field. I am new to this. Please explain.

if you look in the relationships window, you can see how they are set up. you will see the field is not connected to any other table, so there cannot be any referential integrity for this field. There is however for other fields
