What does this part of the statement mean?

I know (or think that I know) that the combo is okay; it is just the email that I am not sure about.

This would not affect combo box, but it may affect email to be sent?

That's correct. The statement strHelpDesk = Me.cboReceivedBy.Column(1) extracts information from the selected item in the combo box and saves it to a variable. It does not modify the combo or the selection made in it.
