Different shading in each "row" on report

As you can see the report is grouped and each group can have as many as 4 tiers.

I'd like all those four rows to be shaded. But the next group to be white. The group after shaded etc.

All I know how to get is one line at a time

Set the background color to white,
Then in the report property , set the alternate line color to the one you want.

Doesn't seem to be doing quite what I'm after

I need both 7jk1 values in grey (including two tiers)

then 7jk2 values in white (including 2 tiers)

    and so on

Something like adding a field to your record source query that says True or False - yes this is the same value as the previous row, or not it is not the same value. Then use that to determine the color. I have seen where a textbox or label is used which covers the entire row which is then set to a color depending on criteria.

Find the right event (OnCurrent?), use two different colors, keep track of which one you are using at this moment, use it if true, otherwise use the other.

look at using the onformat and/or onprint events in the report to set the back colour (and perhaps the alternate colour as well) for the detail section. You will need code to determine whether to be white or grey
