    Problem on selecting specific records

Access 2016 has recently developed a problem whereby when I right click in a field to select a specific value the programme freezes and I have to close and re-open. Has anybody else experienced this problem?

My database contains some 1.6 million records and has been working fine ever since I obtained it. I have recently re-installed the entire Office suite, but the problem persists. As far as I am aware I have not altered any settings. Is there a solution?

What is the memory size of the database?
Have you tried Compacting & Repairing the database to see if that helps?

It is a very large database some 463Mb, and I have compacted it on numerous occasions but to no avail. The problem keeps occurring, but only sporadically.

Sometimes databases do become corrupt. When this happens, I find the following is the best way to fix it.

    Create a new blank database.
Import all your objects from your old database into this new database.
Start using this new database instead.
