Creating a soil sample result database

    Hello all,

I am new to Access, so please be patient with me.

I am looking for some help designing a database to generate recommendations.

I work for an agriculture company. We take soil samples on different fields, then when we get the results back, we make nutrient recommendations to our customers. The recommendations are made using equations. What I want to know, is it possible to design a database that takes the numbers we get back from the soil lab to generate our recommendations and create a report to give to our customers. If so, how would I get Access to use those calculations?

If you have more questions, just let me know.

    Thanks in advance!

Please feel free to adjust/update the following to give more detail of your proposed set up.

You have Customers who have Fields. You take Soil samples from those Fields and send same to a Lab.
The Lab does some test(s) to determine to "chemical composition" of the Soil Sample and returns results to you.
You have some standard Soil References to which you compare the Results from the Lab. For each soil sample you can determine
which Nutrients are outside of "the proper range" and make recommendations to the Customer.
I also assume there will be some sort of Order/Invoice/Charges and Payment involved. You might also want to record history so you (and Customers) can see results of the changes made based on your services.

    Good luck.
