ms access reserved error (-1104) there is no message for this error

All; using 2016; I wasn't sure where to post this question. Users are getting this error when navigating thru the database.
    Code:
ms access reserved error (-1104) there is no message for this error
I've never seen this error before. The database is split and users are going thru Remote Apps to access the database. We had no problems until now. anyone have any suggestions on what's causing the error? Thanks

    Are you running a macro?
when the error happens, can you debug and see the offending line?
    can you post it?

not much help but it is mentioned here

    http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/corruption/symptoms.htm

    which states "invalid session handle"

Suggests you need to compact the back end.

You say the db is split - but do all users still have their own copy of the front end?

Just read the msg from the users. I will get more info. Yes; each user has their own FE. In the meantime; I will compact the back end. Will post back.

Did you upgrade to windows 10?
Do you have linked tables to a mapped drive (e.g. K:\)?
Is this drive setup via a Group policy?
If so go look at the GPO and change it from 'replace' to 'update'. Windows7 by default did an update. windows 10 does a 'replace' meaning drop the drive and re-add it. This in turn causes JET to explode in an unrecoverable state.

Error messages with this number and text have been reported as long as 14 years ago - maybe longer. The general consensus is that it's corruption and requires you to import everything into a new BE. That may be the best option in light of the information you seem to have. Out of curiosity, I'd try copying the BE to a local hard drive and linking the tables to it and see what happens. Of course, any edits to this data would put it out of sync with the working data set, so it's just an experiment. If the BE is corrupt, copying it should have no effect, so the test should be valid. If you cannot replicate the failure after several attempts, it may be a network issue. However, you need to know what the user is doing at the time the error is generated. In fact, you need to know the process they are following. Often, knowing what is going on at the moment is insufficient as it can be just as important as to how they got to where they were just prior to the failure.

    @slimjen
I realise it is 5 years on but I recently wrote an article about this error message for the Access Forever blog Feedback requested: There is no message for this error (accessforever.org) and included a link to this article.
The Microsoft Access team are keen to fix this type of error message as it is a bug
If you read this reply and are able to provide more details or, ideally, an example database shwing the error, it would be really useful.
