    Weird excel import error

I am attempting to link an excel table to my MS database, which I have done numerous times, but when I select the sheet the table is on Acess does not recognize where the table ends. Instead, it treats it as if there is no table and attempts to import the entire sheet. I have checked that there is a table on the sheet for it to find. The table is not listed under the named range option. Thoughts?

sometimes excel thinks it has data in cells , but us humans cant see.
in excel, select ALL rows under the data and right click -delete the rows. (dont press the delete key)
    save
    then try to import.

if still fails, save the excel backwards to the old version.
    retry.

That didn't change anything. Thanks though.

If you open the Excel file and hit CTRL-END, what cell does it go to?
This is where it thinks your data ends. If your column is out past the 49th column, that would be why it is doing that.
You can use the same methodology for deleting columns as Ranman told you for deleting rows.

Note, you could also try using Named Ranges. Just highlight all your data in Excel, and give the range a named.
Then you can link it in Access using that named range.

Try copying the data in the excel file to a new sheet. only select the cells with data and copy them over. Try importing that.
