ODBC for Stand alone system / server

    Hi All,

We have few MS Access files (Around 600 MB each, with 7,00,000 lakh rows of data) saved in a stand alone system acting as Server.

I have created an ODBC connection from users system to the server,& connected through Microsoft Query. However when I try to extract data the excel file goes to not responding mode or causes lot of delay in data extraction.

Is there any way that I can optimize this, please.

    Thanks & Regards
    Raj

cant you use an Access front end? then there's no need for ms Query.

    Welcome to the forum.

What is "with 7,00,000 lakh rows of data"?
What do you mean by "a stand alone system acting as Server."?

It sounds like MS Query IS extracting data from an Access BE to Excel, but because of the number of records being returned, it takes a long time to finish.

What does the MS Query SQL look like?
