Number Field showing Last name and first name

One of my old supervisors made a lifeguard database to keep track of their training's and attendance.

The database works like it should but I am very curious how my old supervisor set up the Registration table to show the lifeguards last name and first name.

Here is a picture of the relationship:

EmployeeTable,Registration, and In-service is what matters for now.

    Here is the RegistrationTable:

The "Employee Attended" is a number field but it is displaying the last and first name of the employees.

Then in the "In-service Table, after pressing the + sign, you get the same list of employees registered in that in-service date.

I get the relationship but did my old supervisor use a a wizard to display the last name and first name in the same field from the Employee ID?

    You mean Lookup field?
A lookup table is a table used primarily/only to provide lookup values for controls like combos or maybe list boxes. At least that's what I believe.

Look at the properties of the field (near the bottom of the window) on the Lookup tab when in design view and see if that's the answer.
