    Pop-up form within sub form

    HI,

I have a sub form in tabular format to enter personnel allocated to a task. I wish to also record risk factors against some personnel but they would make the tabular format too wide or more than one line which isn't so easy to look at. I thought that I would create a pop up window to record the risks. It is running off a button. I can't get the pop up to put the data into the same record as current record on the sub form. Either it creates a new record or doesn't record the data entry at all.

    Thanks

    Helen

I'm sure there are better ways but invisible text boxes in your subform linked to the risk factors. As you fill them in on the pop up form it should be easy to transfer the info back to the text boxes and hence store them.

Assuming that there can be zero to multiple risk factors, you really need a separate Table for them, rather than adding risks factors to the personnel Record. This would be a one-to-many relationship (personnel-to-risk factors) and typically displayed as a Subform to the personnel Form.
