    ODBC problem

    Hello,

To anyone who can help me, I explain my problem :

I need to reed a table from a SQL serv via ODBC. Here are the results :

    - With Access 2013 : not working, all data are #Deleted
    - With Access 2016 free version of 5 days, was on PC when I installed windows) : working fine
    - With Access 2016 (pro, 64bits) : not working, same problem (#deleted)

The question : why was it working with the "free" version and not with the one I bought ? I did EXACTLY the same things (link ODBC, read only, ...) but can't look the options of the free one due to the installation of 2016 Pro.

NB : I notice that on the free version, Access didnt load all the data but just the first 1000 raws or so, nevertheless I was still able to make request on the whole table and obtain results. A contrario, on the paid version Access load all the data and cant read it.
NB2 : The SQL data contains more than 55000000 lines and 100 raws, ~3GB of data.

    Many thanks,

    SColaux

    (sorry for bad english)

be sure you have the latest ODBC driver for your BE, THEN link the tables.

access only shows a few 1000 records to save memory, the query should still pull all data tho.

Which ODBC driver are you using?
I couldn't read data from SQLSE using SQL Server driver. I had to use SQL Native Client/SQL Native Client 10.0 (Access 2010).

    Hello,

I tried with SQL Server Native 10.0 and 11.0, ODBC Driver 11 for SQL and SQL Server 10. Same problem for all of them

To anyone who get the same problem,

The 2016 version I had free was a Click 2 Run edition (v16.7.XX)
The 2016 version I bought is a MSI version (v16.4.XX)

The 16.7 add a new feature the allows Access to process huge table with a BigInt primary key, this feature will be added in June 2017 for the MSI version.
