I am a total noob to Sharepoint. I have a couple of Access databases that I would like to host on a Sharepoint server. Doing a little googling has left me sort of confused. It looks like Sharepoint 2010 with Access Services is not the way to go. I do still use Access 2010 at home but use 2016 Pro at the office. I don't use Office 365. I have seen hosting anywhere from free to $5000 a month for sp farms. Is it possible to install Sharepoint on Server 2008R2 ? If I do, do I also need to install SQL Server ? Will it include everything to host Access and Excel apps ? I want the apps to be available on my LAN, not necessarily the WWW. All very confusing.
