List of Tables, Queries, Forms squashed into narrow band on left

The section to the left where the list of tables, queries, forms etc shows has now been narrowed down to a thin sliver on the left and I cannot seem to get this to open up wider so that i can see the items and their names, which is making working on these tables, queries etc difficult. Normally you could hide and open this section without a problem, but for some reason on opening it a while back there does not appear to be anything which will allow me to open this section to work on the various items. I have to hover my mouse over the small section which is visible to get the name until I find the right item to work on.
