only get four rows on a form - room for many more

This must be so easy but like so many I dont even know what to search for.............

I have a form which currently shows 4 fields for students in the detail section. There are at least 30 rows and I'd like to see more

There is much more space available and I'd like to see more students but dont know how to. If I widen the detail section I just get a a wider gap and only see 1 row of data.

    many thanks

its automatic, if the query has 40 rows, youll get 40.
make sure theres no restrictions in the query (top 4 or the like)
make sure the form is not a sub form linked to a master key.
make sure the form filter is off

Thanks. I do have a subform on the same page. Based on the members of the main form. But the row source for the form has 32 rows.

then make sure the sub form key field is linked to the master form key field,
    subform property

    That's all ok.

I can scroll down and get the other rows too so they are here. That's what's so frustrating. I know the rows are there!

When I open the form, I get 9 rows in the main form. to get more rows you need to make the main form footer smaller, which means making the subform smaller.

It is a trade off between the rows displayed in the main form detail and the rows displayed in the subform.
