    Question Conversion to 64 bit Office - Access Question

    Hello,

    I am switching to 64 bit office to work with larger data sets in Excel and with that am converting to Access 64 bit version. All of my databases were made using the 32 bit version of the program. Do I need to make any changes to these databases so that they will work seamlessly when opened using the new 64 bit version of Access? I want to avoid any complications if possible.

    Thank you

    there should be no problems normally, BUT if you use vb code API funcitons,
    they must have the option to run in either environment 64 or 32, using the PTRSAVE option

    if you dont use api functions, then it shouldnt need any modifications.

    Code:
    #if Win64 then
       Declare PtrSafe Function MyMathFunc Lib "User32" (ByVal N As LongLong) As LongLong
    #else
       Declare Function MyMathFunc Lib "User32" (ByVal N As Long) As Long
    #end if
