    Writing to a record twice

Ayte111 helped me with the: Docmd.OpenForm "frmSecondNet",,,"MainID=" & Me!MainID to keep a popup from on the same record. If you need the db file its in that thread.

I ran into another issue where I save the record before leaving form2 and then close form1 and it has an issue with saving to the record because it has changed since it was opened. Do I need to do something with me.dirty? Do I not ssave the record in popup form2, but close out popup form2 and then save when I close form1?

Yes, if they are bound to the same source and both can edit the record, I would explicitly save the record in form 1 before opening it in 2.

Yes, that is it - move your save command from the Close event to immediately prior to opening the next form.
