Question HOW TO? Sum multiple specific rows and load into report?

    Hi!
Disclaimer: I'm really new to Access so I'm not sure if this is even possible to do in a report

I am trying to take a query I have and I want to create a report that takes every value that has the same entry in column X and add up their respective values that have been entered in column Y.

Not sure if this is clear. Lets say I have a query that is showing different Units or Lessons, the higher Class each lesson falls into, and the length of time each unit/lesson takes in days. I want to be able to have a report that shows the total number of days each Class takes without having to show the individual units/lessons in each class.

This link re: Group By may provide some info to help with your query.

There is not much context to your question and I see this is your first post, so a little more info about you and your set up may be helpful to readers.

A proven strategy with database is to first get your tables and relationships designed to meet/support your business needs before jumping in to queries/form/reports etc.

    Welcome to the forum.

Thanks! Okay using some data that is synonymous to my actual data:

    CLASS UNIT LENGTH
    BIO 1.1 3
    BIO 1.2 4
    HIST 1 4
    HIST 2 3
    HIST 3 7
    LIT 1 10
    LIT 2 12
    LIT 3 8

    etc.

So I would like to create a report that shows each class and the total number of days the class will take. Does this help?

Welcome. Your second post was moderated because of the link in the quote. You would group on Class and sum Length.
