    Call Tracking/Asset Templates

I've been customizing the Call Tracking and Assets templates. I merged parts of them and for the most part it works. My issue, using Access '16, is I can view assets from the Contact Asset Datasheet subform tab within the CONTACT DETAILS form which is in datasheet layout. At the beginning of the DS there is a field with "OPEN" in the field that opens the associating assets' record. Although there is a "Save and New" button, it does not open a new call with that asset or contact info. The form is blank and obviously a new record input.

I want a button on the Asset Details form that can open up a new call, populate all the asset and owner info into a new form called NewCall and write it to the CALL table.

The Assets Detail form is getting info from the Assets Extended query, where the Assets and Contacts tables are linked many-to-1 through Assets Field:Owner to Contacts ID: PK.

I've tried a few DoCmd.OpenForm commands that didn't achieve much. This is my first contact with this forum and first project and I only have rudimentary program skills.
    Be gentle.

    Hi Bob,
    Thanks for responding.

Are you looking for the tables, without content, forms and queries?

Bob, Thanks for helping. I will have to do some scrubbing first. Most likely will submit the DB next week. I still have others duties here at work that must be addressed. Meanwhile if you're at all familiar with the CALL Tracking template that is the basis for my DB. While the template is good it does not have an auto fill form from the Assets subform. That's what I will be sending later. Thanks again, JD

    Bob,

Ok, here is the DB. Although your signature line states saves as mdb, 2016 would not let me.
    Thanks for the help.
