Beginner, build a app for work

    Hi

I really need to find a solution to store data about my employees. I want a personal card for each person with sll relevant information.

I have never used access before and have no real programming skills. So i hope this can be build in access.

Should i use a predefined app template for sharepoint or a desktop version?
I started in an app, it was quite easy, but i quickly realized that there were no features to make something more advanced... Is there any good video tutorials?

To your first question, I'd use the desktop version unless you need the online capabilities of the app. As it sounds like you've seen, the desktop version has more tools available to it.

A realistic answer would require more information about what you are wanting in the application, specifically what data is to be stored, what processes you want to impliment, and what types of output you desire. If you are new to programming, I would not recommend trying to tackle a new database from scratch. But if you don't need the functionality right away and have the time to learn how to program, great! Check out the links given earlier and have a look at various tutorials on the web. On the other hand, if you don't:

There may be a commercial package out there that would meet your needs, and likely at a very good price. A quick search on the web found https://www.microsoftaccessexpert.co...-Database.aspx - a demo can be downloaded (https://www.microsoftaccessexpert.co...ModernDemo.zip) and the cost is just $50. As it is advertised as an updateable template, you could make any changes or additions you need. It looked pretty good. Though it doesn't have a method to print anything like a personnel card, adding that ability would not be that difficult. And if there are other details you want to track that aren't listed, the tables can probably be easily updated to support them. There is a free contact database at http://www.databasecreationsite.com/...tact-database/ which looks very promising too - would have to add option to select/print all personnel cards and create the report layout.
