    Report duplicates

    Good Day

I have just started using access after a long break so I,m a bit of a novice. I am practicing on a Db for a Auto Repair Shop which I created maybe 4 years ago but have a problem with a report.

I have a parent report which has the customer/vehicle details and inserted an Sub Report (continuous form) with the repair details and cost. Everything works fine except I am getting Duplicate reports for each line of the sub report, if there are 5 lines I get 5 duplicate reports.

I looked at everything I can think of but can not see what I have done wrong, its driving me crazy. I would really appreciate it if someone could give me some suggestion on what to look at.

Does the record source for the subreport work correctly by itself outside of the report? No duplicate records?

    Report Duplicates

    Good Day

Thank you for your reply. I have extracted a part of my Db which shows the problem, tried various things so it may not be laid out correct.

Got confused and frustrated so gave up, need some help, i,m sure its a simple fix.

    I don't use macros.
I did not get repeated/duplicated reports.

When I had the form open to record 1, and asked for Report Preview, I got what I expected.
However, when, on the form, I then selected record 2, and clicked report preview --nothing changed/happened.

If you have an auto repair shop, you might need traditional tables. I don't know what your business is or what level of detail is needed, just identifying some possible things in no specific order.

    Customer
    Vehicle
    WorkOrder
    WorkOrderDetails
    Task
    Repair Parts Service
    MechanicAssigned

    Good luck with your project.

    Thanks again for your help.

Sorry I don,t think I explained the problem very well.

Yes when I open the report from the form it opens to the correct report. However if I go to the navigation buttons on the bottom of the report and go to the next page I then see a duplicate report. This will happen according to how many Item lines there are, if there are 3 lines as in Order No I get 3 duplicate reports.

This is not a big problem I just have to remember to only print page 1. Maybe I,m wrong but I don,t thing this is how it should work.

I don,t normally use Macro,s either I was just trying something to fix the problem and forgot to delete it. In my working Db I have similar tables to the ones you suggested and all of that is working how I want it. The Job Card at the moment will be a stand alone form and not related to any of the main tables.

Thanks again I appreciate any advice you can give me.
