    Grouping items in a lookup

For a lookup field, I would like to format the lookup list as follows:

    France
    Nice
    Paris
    Austria
    Graz
    Salzburg
    Vienna

Only the cities are selectable, not the countries.

The row source for the lookup is a table with this structure:

    Country City
    France Paris
    Austria Vienna
    Austria Salzburg
    France Nice
    Austria Graz

I know about cascading combo boxes, but I don't want to use them here. Is it possible in Access to format a lookup list as shown above?

    Thanks for your assistance.

Possible sure, easy not so much. I could see it done a union query, plus some code to prevent selection of countries. Not sure how seamless that would be without testing.
