Hi All:
I have a database I am designing that should be simple, but it is proving not to be.
All I need:
1 form
- on the left side of this form are text boxes prefilled with data from a flatfile. It is not to be edited, just text boxes with the data for reference.
- on the right side of this same form are text boxes and comboboxes that should either be entered by the user (textbox) or select appropriate options (combobox).
- the right side is dependent to the left side of the form. For example if ID 2 is selected, then any data entered in the right side of the form will always be associated with that ID.
both the left side (textbox only) and the right side (textbox and comboboxes) of the form are the same as far as naming convention. The only difference is I've attempted to add a date field to the right side of form.
I'm trying to upload my sample DB to try to illustrate what I'm hacking at. But I can't seem to trim it down under 500 kb (it's 584)
If there is a better way (while considering I am a novice access db developer) to do this or if I need to clarify, let me know.
I've thought of making a form with the "unchangeable" data and a subform to make the changes with, but wasn't sure if that was a good choice either.
Thanks
