Count number of identical posts

Hi guys,

When a post is shown in a form, I want a dedicated field in the same form to count the number of posts that have a particular field value in common.

Example:

Item number: 100
Name: Cup
Family: Plastic items

So now I want a field to count the number of posts that have the same value in the Family field. In this case "Plastic items".

How can this be done?
