If record does not exist, Inform user and return to previous form

    I think my title sums it up . . . .

    Here is what I have,

    * A command button opening a query asking for user to enter Id number.
    * A form then opens showing that record and all related information.

However If a record does not exist I would like to have a message box appear informing users that the record does not exist rather than opening the form with null data and directs the user to previous form.

What is the VBA code behind your command button? Does the query prompt for the ID number, or is it on the form?
