Search box on Navigation bar at the bottom of a form

Is there a way to set which field on a form the search box uses to search the records that are attached to that particular form?

Also if that is possible, will it narrow the records available to scroll through with the Navigation arrows down to only the records that contain the searched criteria?

I haven't been able to find anything online about it, but could have not been using the correct terminology in my searches.

    Thanks ahead of time.

You know Stephen Lebans offeren a replacement for that Nav form and I suspect it may offer something you need.
