    formatting a complete cell

New to Access and working on first database. I am trying to highlight an entire row if a condition is true using Conditional formatting and expression is. I have created an unbound text box and sized it to width/height of row. I then "send back" so its behind the other controls and attempted to make existing controls back style transparent (not sure if I can tell if this was done?). I have used the logic....[Recoverable]=True and do not receive any errors, but the row doesn't highlight either?

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong or what I can try?
    Thanks,
    Kevin

You can't hi lite a row base on 1 cell value. EVERY cell would need the condition.
Rather than using condition, use vb to set all cells based on 1 value.

Sometimes you can fake it by putting a wide textbox behind the entire row of controls and implementing conditional formatting on it. You'd need an expression that tests the value of the control you're currently trying to color. Make its border transparent and set the back color to be the same as the form area behind it.

Micron, this is exactly what I am attempting to do. I am not sure if the transparent border is working though?

should this be the control or the unbound text box?

Can you elaborate on how to do this? I am just getting started with Access so VB is even less familiar to me. thanks

The unbound text box. Not sure what you mean by the border 'not working'. Note (and I'm repeating here) that this has to be placed behind all the controls you want to 'color'. Also, I forgot to mention that those controls have to be transparent so that the unbound color shows through when it has been colored by your conditional formatting.

Just for clarification on my end to ensure I am doing it correctly, when you say "has to be placed....all the controls..to 'color" , I am dragging or positioning the unbound text box so it encloses all the controls? I want to make sure this is the meaning of "behind"?

    "behind"?
I right click on text box and choose position and then "send to back"

    I GOT IT!!!!!!!!!
I changed the Back Color in Property Sheet to "Background Form". I didn't totally understand what you were saying in your first post, but looks good.
    Thank you
