Accessing Pass Through Queries from within Excel

I have created a detailed MS Access Query which references a PASS THROUGH query. This runs perfectly within Access. If I then attempt to access this query from a pivot table in Excel (all 2016) it will not load. If I remove any reference to the PASS THROUGH query all works ok in Excel.

Q.? Can Excel run MS Access queries which reference PASS THROUGH queries.

Wow good question. I have never tried this. But you could, make an append query to a temp tbl to capture the pass thru,
THEN run a cross tab on that.

The issue with running append or create queries is I don't actually open Access, the pivot table in Excel simply uses Access as an external data source and runs a Query AND any attempt to reference the PASS THROUGH result in an error.
