Editing report format and isolating records

    Hi,

I have two questions in regards to access reports:
    1) After creating a report how can i easily resize fields? when i try to do this now it overlaps other fields and i am unable to see some of the information.
    2) I want my report to show one record for a one-to-many relationship. (One project, many students) In my case we have students assigned to a project. I want to show the student who is marked as "lead" for the project only, but the report shows duplication of the project with each student assigned to it. Any way around this?

    Thanks.

1, if you used the rpt wizard, it would format the boxes so you can't overlap. Stretching a label would also stretch the data box.
otherwise, you must manually move and stretch boxes so they don't overlap.

2, build a query that pulls the 1 master record AND all the sub records. Either use parameter input or a form to get the project. Yes the project will exist on every record but Access doesn't care.
In the report, set a group band for the Project (so it prints once) and all the folks print under it.

Thanks. The second point solved my problem via the grouping, but I've still cant seem to resize the fields despite using the rpt wizard. The fields don't move over but rather they overlap.

Please reply to this thread with any new information or opinions.
