Average of a calculation in Reports

I'm having an issue with calculating an average, min, and max of a calculation field. I have the "Orig" data, and "Updated" data that I'm reporting. I created a field to calculate the % difference like (updated/orig)-1. That worked perfectly but when I try to get the avg, min and max in the footer it does not calculate. It calculates for the "Orig and Updated" columns but not for the column containing the "% difference". Also, when I go from design view to report view I get a popup for the new "average" field in the footer like it's asking for some input data. Sorry, I'm not familiar with coding and rely on the built in functions. The control source for the field in the footer looks like this "=avg([% Dif])". Any help?
    # Orig Updated % Dif
    1 790 765 -3.2%
    2 760 745 -2.0%
    3 755 775 2.6%
    4 772 750 -2.8%
    5 781 769 -1.5%
    Avg 771.6 760.8
    Min 755 745
    Max 790 775

Can't you just use the same calculation for the bottom part? "(updated/orig)-1" so for Avg: (760.8/771.6)-1 = -.014%

Yes, thanks Bulzie, I had thought of that and knew it calculated correctly on % change average but can't figure out how to do the % change "min" and "max". Also I was more interested in why it wouldn't calculate the data in the column or more importantly, what I was doing wrong in the control source. Maybe it's so simple I can't see it!
