Not able to add a new record to a Table from a Form

Attached is a database that I have been working on for far too long. I am new to access, but my current job has my doing a revamp on their calibration database. In 'Calibrate' I have the search, reset, and print report working well. I am having trouble with 'Add Instrument'. At the beginning I had everything working perfect, except nothing was updating and I realized the my source was a table and not a query. So I have since changed the source to 'SearchQuery', but now I can get some things to update, such at 'NextCalDate', but I can't get 'Department ID' or 'Department' to work well anymore. Any help with this would be amazing.

You can have a form connect to a table, or query.
if its set to AllowAdd,AllowEdit, then it should let you add records.

Queries ,depending on design , will NOT let you add.

Both AllowAdd and AllowEdit are on yes
