datasheet that shows all records with in a form

I am trying to create a form with a table in it. The table and the form pull from the same table. My reasoning behind this is for people who are entering new records can see existing records and don't create a duplicate. After I put the datasheet in the form and opened form view I can only see the record that the form is showing. Is there any way to see all of the records in the form all at once regardless of what record I am on?

    Thanks

Set the form property to continuous records,or data sheet, instead of single record.

Is your datasheet in a subform within your main form? If so, look at the properties of the control containing the subform. Delete any values in the Link Master Fields and Link Child Fields properties.

The datasheet subform should show all records.

How many records are you expecting your users to scroll through to check for duplicates - if it is more than just a few, your users will become frustrated and miss seeing existing duplicates.

What defines a unique record? If a unique record is defined by only one or two fields, then all you need to do is put a unique index on the table with those two fields, and let Access look after the prevention of duplicates with its error messages. You could also give users an error message as they enter the data, using VBA to check for possible duplicates.
