How can a barcode scanner autofill fields

    Hello all.

I have a problem with a barcode reader, and apparently this can be done - I just don't know how to set it up.

I am doing a stock take.
I have a form stock where i do the stock take and from there i can input by scan items into the stock.
I have another form invoice where i want while scanning the code bare it s autofill some field
Im just using a standard barcode scanner

    Any help please

it would help enormously if you explained what the problem is.

it should just work like any input device - click on the form control to give it the focus, then scan your item

with the scanner should have come some instructions for setting up - usually plug and play to a usb port and some settings you can adjust as required - e.g. move to next field after scanning.

Have a look in your control panel - devices - input devices or similar for your scanner

    This might work:

but if not I'd open a recordset in the after update event of the control you're putting the scan in, and use the result to populate other controls.
