Access DB saved to shared drive: READ ONLY when opening the DB ****Urghhh***

Not sure how or why its doing this but I need assistance. I personally created this DB and saved and stored into a shared drive. Now every time I open the DB it wants me to save a copy of the DB to make changes???? What in the world is going on. How can I resolve this?

I would start with the Trust center, which is found in options. Be sure to set up the folder as trusted. You can search to find textbook type instructions on this.

Also check the properties (operating system) of your folder.

Sounds like you opened the document exlusively. Check your access options to prevent opening exlusively unless you intend to. Also check for an LCCDB file in the related path of the share drive. If it exists, you may need to remove it.
